
Hemal Joshi is one
of the young and new talents of Sydney, having arrived here in 2005. Most
Gujaratis of Sydney have seen him perform on stage as an actor or a singer. He
hails from Veraval and although a student of Science, has a deep interest in
literature and dramatics. Hemal's deep voice is an asset to Sur-Samvaad as he
presents the weekly news bulletins, 'Samachar Saptihiki' and other segments.
Parth Nanavati has grown up with watching bollywood movies, acting
in local theatre of VVN, and performing at various venues across India. He
writes, directs, and produces short films. International cinema has influenced
his film review style a lot, and he is very selective about what he reviews. A
scientist by profession, Parth lives in Sydney with his family and writes
poetry, plays and watches countless movies. Parth reviews the latest Bollywood
and world movies on Sur-Samvaad
Zarmar Joshi:
Zarmar holds an M. A in Sanskrit from Gujarat . Having worked on ‘Door-Darshan’
(Ahmedabad) as a news- reader, India’s government national television channel,
she brings with her a wealth of media experience. Zarmar is a talented classical
dancer, choreographer and dance teacher in the Bharatnatyam style and has
completed her Visharad (B.A in Dancing) from Ahmedabad. Zarmar presents regular
segments in Sur-Samvaad.
Kersi Meher- Homji: Sports editor of The Indian Down Under published in Sydney since 1987, he has contributed cricket articles to several mainstream papers in India and Australia. A cricket tragic, he has published over a dozen books in Australia, including the best-selling The Waugh Twins, Out for a Duck, Nervous Nineties and Six Appeal. His latest 'Cricket's Great All Rounders' has been hailed by cricket fans and critics alike. Born in Mumbai and settled in Sydney since 1970, Kersi Meher-Homji is a Virologist by profession. He presents cricket news and segments on radio.
Kiran Pradhan of Muzitek Creations, Sydney is an accomplished
musician. Many of his compositions sung by famous singers have been recorded and
released by HMV, and other companies in India. Kiran has command over computer
based music sequencing and arrangements and also plays tabla, guitar and
harmonium. Kiran is an engineer from IIT, Bombay and has completed master’s
degree in Management Studies from UK. Kiran arranges and records Sur-Samvaad
signature tunes and jingles.
